Chore chart sign-up sheet
Chores get done when everyone knows who does what. Make a shared chore chart, send the link to your roommates or family, and let everyone claim their tasks for the week.
No account needed for you or your guests.
How it works
- Start from the template. The slots are already filled in. Change names, dates and spots to fit your plans.
- Share one link. Send it by WhatsApp, email or text. People open it on any phone or computer.
- Watch it fill up. Everyone picks a slot and types their name. Full slots close automatically, and a waitlist catches anyone who missed out.
Why letting people choose works better
When people pick their own chores, they're more likely to actually do them. Someone who hates dishes might happily take out the trash and clean the bathroom.
A shared list also ends the "I thought you were doing it" discussions: it's right there on everyone's phone.
Weekly or monthly
For a weekly rotation, add the week's date to each chore, then use "Copy this sheet" to start next week. Everyone picks again, so the unpopular jobs get shared around.
Bigger jobs, like cleaning the fridge or the windows, can go on a monthly sheet with a few spots each.
Tips
- Describe what "done" means in each chore's note, for example "wipe counters too".
- Keep chores small and specific. "Kitchen" is vague, "Dishes and counters" isn't.
- Use it for shared houses, student dorms, family households, offices and clubs.
- Print the chart and put it on the fridge.
- Rotate the least popular chores by copying the sheet every week.
